Video Call Completion/Call Termination Service

While the penetration of 3G mobile phones continues to increase rapidly, the usage of 3G video calling is growing at a much lower rate. Many of the issues affecting the use of 3G video calling is the actual user experience of making video calls. In many networks, callers attempting to place a video call to subscribers who are unable to receive the video call (such as their phone is turned off or they are a non-3G subscriber), are usually provided either a vague error message on their handset informing them that the call cannot be completed, or in some cases, prompted to place a voice call instead – defeating the purpose of making a video call.

Video CallAnswer is a hosted call completion service that offers mobile operators the means to improve the experience of 3G video calling while at the same time generating revenues from increased video call termination. The service allows 3G subscribers to place video calls to other video and non-video mobile subscribers, regardless of the intended subscriber's network status, and record video messages for them when their call cannot be completed. Instead of being prompted with a vague handset message that their call has failed to connect, the caller is prompted with a video greeting informing that the call cannot be placed and provided with the option to record and send a 3G video mail message. If the caller decides to leave a message, the message is sent to the recipient as an MMS mail together with text containing the caller’s mobile number and the time & date the message was left.

Video CallAnswer benefits mobile operators, 3G subscribers and 2G subscribers:

Video calls that cannot connect to the called party are answered by the call completion service, offering 3G subscribers an improved user experience.
