Siemens
implements iPoint-media to powerinnovative 3G video services in Italy
Israel, Tel-Aviv – October 25, 2006 – iPoint-media (LSE:IPNT), a provider of 3G/IP
video interactive application platforms, announces that
Siemens, a major 3G infrastructure provider, has completed
implementation of the iPoint-media Vitrage™ media platform
at Seat Pagine Gialle, one of the
world's leading telephone directory companies. Seat is utilizing the Vitrage™
platform to provide new and innovative video call services to 3
Italia, a Hutchinson Whampoa Group mobile video company and
Italian leader in UMTS with more than six million customers.
The new directory services allows 3 Italia customers to place
video calls to Seat’s 89.24.24 personal assistant and view an
unlimited array of useful information on their videophone display.
Using iPoint-media’s patent pending information sharing technology,
agents can offer a wide range of audio visual information, such as
providing callers with a visual tour of the rooms and public areas
of the hotel where they wish to reserve a room, images of restaurant
dining areas and a map of how to arrive, or virtual tours of major
historical sites of a city.
Muki Geller, CEO of iPoint-media commented:
“This tourist video assistance service implemented by Siemens
is just one example of the many services our technology makes possible.
While the Italian market is currently leading in the use of these types
of services, we expect to see a growing demand for these and other video
calling services throughout Europe in the near future, resulting in a
growing demand for our platform by Siemens and other infrastructure providers.”
