The goliveTV server
is physically deployed at a mobile operator or hosting facility,
which also provides the gateway functions and IP network
connectivity. The service is operated remotely by a TV
broadcaster’s production team utilizing a web-based management
and control application. The TV studio is connected to the
hosting centre via a high quality IP link (preferably dedicated
and secured) with a guaranteed bandwidth corresponding to the
number of online interviews/live sessions. A broadcast CODEC
provides the actual video feed originating from the 3G
subscriber to the TV production equipment
goliveTV supports 3G
UMTS handsets conforming to the 3G-H.324M standard. A 3G gateway
is required for bridging the call from the circuit switched
network (3G) to packet switched (IP over Ethernet) and changing
the call control signalling standard to H.323. A gateway port is
required for each concurrent 3G call to the goliveTV platform.
goliveTV handles all
aspects of live video caller participation, from the
transmission and encoding of the video, broadcasting of menu
options to the caller’s phones, management of incoming calls,
screening of callers, and the interfaces with the broadcasters
infrastructure and video mail solutions. |

ARCHITECTURE COMPONENTS |
Multimedia IVR Controller
– This component manages the front-end menus, through which
callers navigate to find desired video content or access the
relevant production representative. |
Built-in ACD – A
powerful and comprehensive built-in Automatic Call Distribution
(ACD) and sophisticated video soft-switch. The ACD manages the
routing of the calls and is managed through a web-based portal.
Multimedia Content
Repository – The content repository includes video clips
that are displayed to the callers. These clips include video
greetings, instructions and other content.
Producer Station – A
web-based interface for managing the caller screening process
and control of content sent on-air. |

COMPONENTS FOR LIVE VIDEO CALLS |
Video Gateway –
H.324M 3G Video Gateway that bridges the 3G network to IP. |
Gatekeeper – An
H.323/SIP Gatekeeper passes the callers to the goliveTV system.
Broadcast Terminal –
The broadcast terminal is a high quality H.323/SIP video codec,
generating a video output (SDI, SVIDEO/Composite). The unit
interfaces with the studio’s equipment to enable two-way
communications between the host and the caller. The image of the
caller is transmitted in the show’s format and embedded in the
live feed as a PIP or other format. |
