German
carrier dtms selects iPoint-media to
deliver 3G mobile video calling services
UK, Newbury – June 23, 2008 – iPoint-media (AIM:IPNT), a
provider of live, interactive video applications and delivery
platforms for web, 3G mobile and media, announces that dtms
GmbH, a division of D+S europe AG, has signed a Software as a
Service ('SaaS') agreement to deliver access, in Germany, to the
interactive video calling service creation environment on
iPoint-media's Vitrage 3G (UMTS) video calling application
platform. dtms and iPoint-media believe the agreement has the
potential to generate several million premium rate video calling
minutes on the Vitrage platform within the next 24 months.
dtms has selected iPoint-media to move aggressively into the
rapidly growing mobile video entertainment market. According to
a recent Juniper Research report, the global mobile
entertainment market is expected to reach more than $3.5 billion
by 2012. The Vitrage video application platform will enable dtms
to offer its customers a wide range of advanced, interactive
3G/UMTS video calling entertainment services, including video
chat and video dating, while helping dtms to capture a
significant portion of the German mobile entertainment market.
Dr.
Christian Kühl, spokesperson for dtms, commented:
"We
selected Vitrage for its wide range of interactive services and
its flexibility to quickly and easily enable our customers to
deploy new services. We believe Vitrage will offer a significant
advantage in deploying innovative, interactive 3G/UMTS video
calling services in the German market."
Muki Geller, iPoint-media CEO, commented:
"We
are proud to add dtms to the growing list of carriers,
aggregators and service providers that have chosen our Vitrage
platform for the delivery of 3G mobile video calling
entertainment services. The German market is strategically
important for iPoint-media and the agreement with dtms, a
significant German carrier, further demonstrates why
iPoint-media is the leading vendor of 3G mobile video (UMTS)
application platforms."
iPoint-media believes that 3G mobile video entertainment offers
the potential for significant revenue streams. To help advance
the use of 3G video calling services, iPoint-media recently
modified its business strategy from direct platform sales to a
SaaS-based business model. The new model offers mobile
operators, aggregators and service providers an easier means of
entering this fast growing market. The new strategy has proven
itself successful for iPoint-media, with several new Vitrage
platforms implemented throughout Europe in the last few months.
About dtms:
As
of July 2005, the dtms 'Deutsche Telefon- und Marketing
Services' GmbH belongs to the business process management
specialist group D+S in Hamburg with over 6,000 employees. D+S
europe AG is listed on the SDAX (ISIN DE0005336804).
1998, dtms was founded in Mainz, Germany, by a small group of
telecommunication specialists and is rooted in the world of
value added services based on landline networks. Since the year
2000, dtms follows a special service philosophy for all business
customers who have their own call centre organisation:
Application Service Providing (ASP). The dtms approach builds a
layer over all technical platforms of fixed, mobile and internet
networks. Therefore the highest independence is reached from the
effects of convergence, and the dialog organisation of the
customer doesn't need to invest in its own hard- and software
solutions for voice based intersections.
Today, dtms AG is an established force on the market for service
telephony in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. |
