Russian broadcaster airs first live viewer interactive show using iPoint-media’s 3G participation TV solution
iPoint-media (AIM: IPNT), a provider
of live user content delivery platforms for web, mobile and TV, announces that a major Russian media
and broadcasting organisation located in St Petersburg has broadcast its first TV show using iPoint-media’s
mobile 3G live interactive participation TV platform, GOliveTV. The TV show is a variety show which allows viewers
to video call into the show from their 3G handsets and to participate live in competitions.
The broadcast was made in cooperation with MTS, the leading Russian mobile operator which has recently
launched its 3G / UMTS network and a leading network vendor with which iPoint-media has been working closely.
Muki Geller, iPoint-media's CEO said:
"We are very excited about this project. This is the first broadcaster in Russia to take advantage
of our GOliveTV platform, which enables media channels to ingest, acquire and manage content from telecom
subscribers to introduce new TV show formats based on live viewer interaction and user generated content via
3G video calling. We are going through a successful project testing phase and look forward to working closely
the Russian broadcaster as it continues to develop other new participation TV formats."
