The news studio side of GOnewTV consists of the GOnewsTV Producer application, which provides management of video content, and a Media Interface Device, that interfaces between the GOnewsTV Asset Management Server and the broadcaster’s mixing/playout system.

GOnewsTV Producer Application

The GOnewsTV Producer is a web-based application that enables news producers to manage all aspects of sending remote news on-air. The Producer application resides on a dedicated PC located in the news control room and connects to the Asset Management Server, located at iPoint-media’s hosting center, via a dedicated IP connection.

Using the GOnewsTV Producer, news producers can fully manage and control all live and recorded video content received from citizen news reporters. Producers can send live video on-air or stream the content to a live Internet webcast.

News producers also utilize the GOnewsTV Producer to set up two-way video conversations with would-be reporters. Using this two-way video capability, it is possible for news anchors to interview citizen reporters in the field while both parties are able to see each other.

Media Interface Device

The media interface device acts as a video mediator between the IP based GOnewsTV Asset Management Server and the news organization’s playout/mixing equipment. The device connects with the Asset Management Server over a dedicated IP connection and offers a number of different video connectors for connecting to the mixing/playout equipment.

Remote Video Viewing

GOnewsTV also makes it possible for news producers, not present in the studio, to preview video that has been saved by news teams on the Asset Management Server. The video clips can be viewed on a special website or accessed via a 3G mobile telephone.
