The heart of the remote news service is the GOnewsTV Media Asset Management Server. The Asset Management Server is a fully redundant, high availability system, providing around the clock service. The server is located at one of iPoint-media’s data centers and provides news organizations with a seamless, fully hosted service.

The GOnewsTV Asset Management Server handles all of the management for transmission and storage of transmitted video. The server receives video from the GOnewsTV citizen reporter over a public or private IP network. The server transmits video to the news room via a dedicated IP Internet connection to the Media Interface Device. This device in turn connects to the video mixing/playout system.

The GOnewsTV Asset Management Server is managed by the GOnewsTV Producer. This application is located in the news broadcast control room and interfaces to the server over an IP connection.
